The timing belts are the two most important maintenance items in your engine; only buy quality replacements.
The Goldwing engine is an interference design, meaning if a belt breaks, you will have engine damage.
At the very least, you can expect to replace most valves on the side with the broken belt; at the worst, you'll be looking for another engine!
We recommend that you adhere to our following workshop practices.
We change them if:
If we don't know the history of the belts absolutely for sure.
We know the history, but the engine has been sitting for some considerable time without being turned over.
More than 25,000 miles or five years since a change.
PLEASE REMEMBER! YOU SIMPLY CANNOT TELL THE CONDITION OF A BELT BY LOOKING AT IT!
Due to the construction of the belts, they rarely show signs of usage. They look perfect one day and go bang the next, without warning.
If you have any doubts, changing them is the cheapest insurance against failure.

The belts I supply will be from various well known manufacturers, dependant on availability and the best deal I can get to keep prices down. Mostly from Gates, Flennor, Japanparts, Bosch, etc.
Some manufacturers have already discontinued this particular belt because the last vehicle using it was made in the late 80s.
